2008 "Labs Are Vital™" Facebook Scholarship Contest Winners

Congratulations to the winners of the video portion of the Labs Are Vital™ Scholarship Contest and thank you to all who shared with us your excitement for a career in lab science – we hope you will continue to share this passion with your friends and classmates!

Labs Are Vital™, the American Society for Clinical Laboratory Science (ASCLS), the Association of Public Health Laboratories (APHL), and Blood Systems, Inc., challenged students to put a creative twist on their career goals through the Labs Are Vital Scholarship Contest. Through imaginative print advertisements, T-shirt designs, and videos, students found creative ways to encourage others to consider careers in laboratory science. With lots of growth opportunity, and plenty of jobs available, lab science is a great career choice. Whether they’re conducting tests to determine a disease prognosis or analyzing suspicious toxins that could be detrimental to public health, lab professionals make a difference in the lives of patients and entire communities, showing us everyday why Labs Are Vital.

Winners received the following for their hard work and creativity:

• First-place video winners in each category were awarded a $2,500 scholarship
• Second-place video winners in each category received an iPhone®
